if any of my readers ever wants to make me deliriously happy, all you need to do is find, and buy, a bumper sticker that reads this:
let me show you
how we do it in the trailer park
i had one on my car that met a tragic demise, and it now resides on my wall of shame (don't ask) inside my tv armoire; i should very much like another. my mailing address will go to anyone who finds one and wants to send it. i've never seen it anywhere since, and it's been three+ years. and if anyone can show ya how they do it in the t-park, baby... ;)

  1. Steff...trailer trash???

    C'mon....that is deleriously funny...yes I grew up as the broke joke but still...

    A lifetime of "remebering" where I came from does not make me want to return to the life I grew up living...isn't life about evoloution and not about "class"...

    But trust me...I'm laughing at the thought of that sticker on a 68 Oldsmobile station wagon ... :)

  2. joe -- hey, thanks man. visit often. :) always nice to have new folk about.

    roscoe -- lol, i've only ever BEEN to two trailer parks, and both were Canadian, and more like retirement communities, but i've never set foot inside a trailer, funnily. i just loved it the first time i saw that sticker. i have this courier bag with this yellow trailer on it and it says in large letters "CRACKER." i love wearing that on my scooter, heh, and always get thumbs up when drivers pass me and stuff. (it's a courier bag from a gig i went to, the band Cracker, comprised of the folk from Camper van Beethoven)

    i had the sticker on a Hyundai Excel, if that does anything for your imagery. "dude, i didn't know they drove korean!"

    and yeah, life is entirely about evolution. yes.

    (my other all-time fave sticker i've owned was vandalized by a born-again christian that used to be a customer in a store i worked in. saw the dude doing it, too, and man, did i wanna see blood. grr. never found the sticker since: "LOOK BUSY -- JESUS IS COMING." heh heh heh. oh, and i had one that said, "yes, but not with you.")

  5. Justin -- LOL.

    THE QUEST FOR THE BUMPER STICKERS IS COMPLETE!

    A dear reader in Germany has MADE them for me. Broad Abroad rocks. It's quite cool, not only will I have the stickers I've long wanted, but they will have been custom made by a reader. Very fucking cool.
